Teams/Small Group Practice If you or your team has ice time booked, Lee is available for full team practices and/or small group sessions.
Practices can be run on full and half ice sheet practices. Skaters will learn the fundementals and building blocks to become strong skaters, while coaches will have the opportunity to gain new ideas/concepts for their team to develop throughout the season. What can you expect? Your team/small group will run through Lee's active warm-up. This warm-up will consist of challenging edge drills, turns and pivots. Not only will the skaters' be warmed up and challenged, their weakensses will be exposed for Lee to attack throughout the practice. After a good stretch, Lee will isolate and pinpoint the teams weakest skating points which need to be addressed first. While being taught proper body positioning and technique, the skaters will gain confidence and control in the basic skating positions. Once the skaters have an understanding of the body postioning needed for certain skating skills, then we can add pucks to more game situational drills. Your team will have a unique, one of a kind practice plan suited for their level of play and Lee will keep your team/small group moving, learning and having fun throughout the practice session. *If your team is need of conditioning or a stamina building practice, please let Lee know ahead of time for practice planning purposes. How many sessions will my team need? Skating is a constantly evolving discipline that even the highest level players need to continually develop. As an athlete progresses from the youngest of ages into their adolescent years, their balance and body control shifts with their changing weight and body size. The core structure of skating never changes, so the younger a skater can learn proper body technique, the easier the transition will be through the growing stages. The greatest of improvements in skaters come from those who focus on skating throughout the course of a season. |
